Subject: ProgramAssessment Review/Update
With the Mini-grant temporarily off the table, we need to get started in earnest on the program assessment review and updates. The "Status of Program Assessments" webpage - http://www.trinidadstate.edu/AISL/aps/status.htm - will be the central clearinghouse for this effort.

This "Status" page now has 38 rows in the programs table.  Our task this year is to meet with the staff in each program area, review the past data and plan, and revise appropriately.  This ought to be simple (this has worked best in the past when I've sat down face-to-face with the faculty lead and we went over their plan; typically took ~20 minutes), but to update all of these plans, I need your help.

Please choose three rows representing programs that you'd like to help update (you will be the AISLC Contact along with me - I'll go to all of the initial face-to-face meetings).  Make the initial contact, via email with CC to me and the "Responsible Adminstrator" explaining what it is we're planning to do, then we can work on scheduling a face-to-face with them, you, and me at some date in October.  I plan to come to Alamosa for at least one full day... I'd like to pack as much as possible into each day, starting with Wed Oct 3.

I have made a number of corrections to the "Status" webpage and have put question marks in places where I do not know something - crying out for your input.   I have also entered the estimate of the "Implementation Level" based on last year's assessment reporting.  These look an awful lot like grades ... and so may raise some eyebrows.  This is an experiment based upon a talk I went to last April (my mini-grant sent me to NMHEARC) entitled "Meta-Assessment of Core Competencies."  Essentially it is an assessment of the assessment process itself.

PS    I've already set some AISLC Contacts ... hopefully those assignments make sense.
