Subject: Prog Assess Meeting
I met with the Valley Campus AISLC
members (Shirley Johnson, Genia Rasmussen, and Tom Scarlett, ) as well as Donna
Meyerholz last Wednesday (10/3) regarding program plans. We discussed the
the status page ( http://www.trinidadstate.edu/AISL/aps/status.htm )
and made corrections to it, including adding new programs such as Business
Management. We then reviewed the plans: Accounting, Computer Information Systems,
Office Technologies, and Web Management.
Several ideas came from the meeting
which affect all programs:
1 - lets push to get faculty to
think about using assessment data to project into the future. I.e., think
about what kind of student-learning data will very likely provide evidence for
(strengthening an argument for) strategic initiatives. For example, by
careful constructing a CIS or OFT student-satisfaction-with-technology-survey,
faculty in this area could better make a case for certain types of computer or
software upgrades.
2 - I will to "Automated
Assessment Management System" (the online form for submitting assessments
at http://www.trinidadstate.edu/AISL/reports/asp/form.html -
please feel free to suggest a better name for this). Anyway, I will add
to this some sort of indicator specifying that this assessment is a
program-level assessment - thus helping the AISLC to judge to what extent the
program plans are being implemented.
We will work on the Tdad Campus
plans on October26 from 10am to 2pm (lunch will be provided). I will be
sending out additional details soon.
