Mechanics

Acquire the occupational/technical knowledge and skills which will permit them to enter the work force as well-prepared employees

Graduates will get jobs in CIS or related area or transfer to 4-year university

VE-135

Every Spring the previous year's graduates are contacted

70% get jobs in CIS or related field within 1 year or successfully transfer to 4-year university

Each instructor develops VE-135 data from students.  This data is also sent to the state.

Demonstrate the practical applications of theory in the technical specialty

Acquire/pass professional certification

SAMS and/or Microsoft skills certification

 In final semester at TSJC, graduates must pass SAMS with 70%

70% graduates obtain at least one Microsoft skills certification

Program instructors will administer SAMS and/or skills certification exam and record results

Perform specific tasks for specific jobs or for clusters of related jobs

 

Understand the theory in an area of technical specialty

Students should be able to develop a solution to a business problem and produce complete documentation in industry format

A final comprehensive project will be given at the end of each course

70% of students earn 70% or better
