The Early Childhood Education Program is designed to meet the educational requirements for Child Development Associate (CDA), Group Leader, Infant/Toddler Nursery Supervisor, and Director certification. The student needs to consult with the ECE advisor for the specific requirements of the state and national issued certificates. Laboratory classes will enable the student to gain experience working with professionals in approved licensed childcare facilities in the community.

Acquire the occupational/technical knowledge and skills which will permit them to enter the work force as well-prepared employees 

To produce graduates who are able to either enter the job force in the field of early childhood care and education or continue on for a higher degree

VE 135 survey

Every Spring the previous year’s graduates are contacted

70% placement in the work force within 1 year, obtain one credential or certification

VE-135 data from students and distributed to program heads

ECE Lab/Practicum Grading Rubric

All ECE classes have critical thinking communication and problem solving woven into the curriculum

80% of the students will achieve grades of 70% or higher.

All instructors will use common rubric to score his/her own students’ reports. All ECE faculty will meet in Spring 2005 to discuss results and write synopsis report with recommendations
