<p class=3DMsoNormal>221 e-mail addresses were generated from SIS for all T=
SJC
graduates with AA or AS degrees.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </s=
pan>Of
those, 55 were undeliverable and 31 valid responses were received.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Regarding transfer questions:</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>5 transferred to ASC &#8211; all said that all of their
credits transferred that should transfer (i.e., not developmental or <span
class=3DGramE>PE )</span></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>3 transferred to CSU-FC &#8211; 2 said all credits
transferred, one said &#8220;most&#8221;</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>8 transferred to CSU-P &#8211; all but one said
&#8220;all&#8221; credits transferred, one said &#8220;most&#8221;</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>2 transferred to UCCS &#8211; One replied <span class=
=3DGramE>that<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>&#8220;</span>all&#8221; courses
transferred, the other replied</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal style=3D'margin-left:.5in'><span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>&#8220;<span style=3D'font-size:10.=
0pt;
font-family:Arial'>Most of my courses transferred but there was a lot of
confusion and some did NOT because I wasn't an official business administra=
tion
major at TSJC (which I was under every impression I was, and told my adviso=
r I
wanted to be) so some of my major specific courses aren't even counting tow=
ards
my degree. I'm not really for sure why some of my other courses didn't coun=
t. I
did take classes at TSJC that I think prepared me for my current school, bu=
t it
is unfortunate that I was not informed of the correct process and they did =
not
all transfer.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>3 transferred to UNC and all replied that all courses
transferred except for one business course (a course which is not a guarant=
eed
transfer course).</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>The balance transferred to other schools &#8211; <st1:=
City
w:st=3D"on">Montana State</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st=3D"on">New Mexico</st=
1:State>
State, Olivet Nazarene, <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on">U=
niversity</st1:PlaceType>
 of <st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Wyoming</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>, <span
class=3DGramE>Wayland</span> Baptist &#8211; and all reported that all or m=
ost of
their credits transferred.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Several students stated that the reason not all of the=
ir
credits transferred was because of details in their major at the senior
institution.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>This argues for
careful matching during advising</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Regarding the question &#8220;Did TSJC prepare you for=
 your
work at the 4 year school?&#8221;<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </=
span><span
class=3DGramE>of</span> the 30 respondents,<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'=
>&nbsp;
</span>23 replied &#8220;yes,&#8221; 4 replied &#8220;somewhat,&#8221;, 1 s=
aid
&#8220;no,&#8221; and 2 did not answer this question.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>One of the &#8220;somewhat&#8221;
respondents alluded to poor advising,<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>The &#8220;no&#8221; respond=
ent
stated that &#8220;the sophomore level classes at TSJC could be more challe=
nging
to prepare transfer-bound students for the junior and senior classes at the
four year institutions.&#8221;<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>Several respondents praised the small class sizes and the one-on-one
attention at TSJC, something they said they missed at the four-year school.=
</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Six (6) respondents replied that they got a job, four =
of
whom said that their TSJC work did not prepare them for that job.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>One said that &#8220;I use many of=
 the
skills I learned in my TSJC work in my classroom.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>My degree is in elementary educati=
on and
I teach 7th Grade Language Arts.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>The Early Education classes I took at TSJC are a great resource for =
me.&#8221;</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>The additional comments follow:</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Attending TSJC was a big help in preparing me for Univ=
ersity
studies. One of the unique <span class=3DSpellE>qualitities</span> of TSJC =
is
that you aren't just another number in the sea of people. Individualized
attention is given, and that makes the difference as to whether or not an
interest is sparked in a particular area.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Get kids to get an idea of what they want to do if the=
y are
going to transfer to a four year school, it will make it a lot easier!</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><st1:place w:st=3D"on">Trinidad</st1:place> is a great
school.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The teachers give the
students one on one attention and that is the best learning environment to
learn in.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Up here the classes=
 are
large and the teachers never really get to know you or help you.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span><st1:place w:st=3D"on">Trinidad</s=
t1:place>
was a great experience for me.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>TSJC greatly helped easy me into college level classes=
</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>When I <span class=3DSpellE>transfered</span>, Metro w=
ould
only accept 64 transfer credits.&nbsp; I had 65 credits, so I only lost one,
but it would be nice if the TSJC advisors would let students know credit li=
mit
policies.&nbsp; Overall, I am extremely pleased with the education that I g=
ot
at TSJC, and I would recommend junior colleges to everyone.&nbsp; Thank you=
