A.
Which interpretation of the Schrodinger's Cat Parable do you
consider best? (Or, you can make up you own). Explain why
you favor this.
I fall into the neo-Copenhagen interpretation camp wherein the wave function is not a "real"
thing, but just a mathematical tool for calculating what will happen (probabilistically).
Thus the cat may or may not be dead, QM only tells us the probability. We must do the experiment
(here, open the box and take a pulse) to see the actual result.
B.
Do you feel the debate over the interpretation of the quantum theory
is a worthwhile activity? Explain why or why not.
Absolutely, thinking about the distinction between reality and the map of reality is
the very core of our humanity. It stems for basic philosophical questions about existence
and knowing.
