Gabrielson named Vice President of Student Services
Trinidad State Junior College has announced that Kerry Gabrielson has been named Vice-President of Student Services and Sponsored Programs. Gabrielson’s previous title was VP of Institutional Advancement.
Gabrielson, who earned a masters degree in Leadership and Public Policy from DePaul University, came to TSJC in August 2006 as a grantwriter. She has succeeded in bringing in over $11 million in grant funds to TSJC in the past 4 ½ years, and will continue to focus on resource development for the college, as well as overseeing Student Services on the Trinidad campus.
When asked about the huge accomplishment of bringing in this impressive amount of funding to the college, Gabrielson said that it has been exciting to create opportunities for the students by providing new resources and technology for TSJC’s programs. She said that she is also looking forward to working directly with students.
Originally from Okemos, Michigan, Gabrielson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton, served in the Peace Corps in Namibia for over two years, and “ended up” in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she met her future husband, Karl.
The Gabrielsons moved to Trinidad when Karl was hired as the Trinidad City Manager in 1999. Kerry was the Executive Director of the Council of Governments (COG) for 3 years.
They have an 8 year old daughter and a 4 year old son, and the entire family “loves to ski, and spend a lot of time fixing up their old house.”
