Trinidad State Junior College is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Paula Davis as Vice President of Academic Affairs.

“I am extremely honored to have Dr. Paula Davis join the Trinidad State Junior College family. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise; her many years in the field of education and experience gleaned from other states translates as a tremendous asset to TSJC,” said college president Felix Lopez.

Dr. Davis comes to TSJC from Colby Community College in Kansas, where she served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. She served as Dean of Instruction at Independence Community College in Kansas, and was also employed with several proprietary schools, including Dean of Academic Affairs at State Spartan College of Aeronautics, Oklahoma, and Dean of Education at the Art Institute of Houston.

Some of her accomplishments in previous positions included implementing online assessment processes, implementing successful new programs and outreach sites through industry partnerships, increasing enrollment through outreach and extended learning, and planning and implementing many federal grants. She continues to serve as a Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Reviewer.

Dr. Davis holds a number of graduate degrees including an Ed.D. from the University of Arkansas.

“My role here will include supervising and working with faculty and curriculum to help serve the TSJC students and to meet the needs of the area. This position and the Trinidad area were appealing to me because I grew up in a rural, farming community, and I think I can make a difference by facilitating the college’s mission and vision for the future,” Dr. Davis said.
