TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR FUTURE…………NEED YOUR GED?

Did you drop out of high school? Do you need a GED to get a better paying job? No need to worry, we can help you. The Trinidad State Junior College Adult Education program in Alamosa will prepare you for the GED test. Our program and all the materials you need are FREE. We are self-paced, so you will work independently at your own speed. We work with you showing you every step of the way what you will need to pass the tests as well as help you when you complete your GED to pursue additional goals. Classes are provided at various locations in the San Luis Valley.

Do you know that:

--All Students are enrolled and pre-tested to determine level.All students are assessed on an individualBasis.

--All classes are Free of Charge and are open enrollment

--ABE/GED/ESL is funded by a grant from the Colorado Department of Education for students who are17 years and older who have not completed a high school education or who are in need of basic skillsIn the area of Reading and/or Math

--The Adult Basic Education Program serves over 200 students yearly with a staff of 13 Educators

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER- Alamosa

If you are interested in improving your skills in Reading , Math or English, we have resources available for you.The Learning Resource Center (Room 212) is a large, quiet but busy area where students can study and receive assistance from full and part-time professionals and trained student tutors.

Tutors are available for:Remedial Math, Advanced Math,Remedial Reading, English, and Writing.The LRC is equipped with nineteen computers for students to compose, revise and do internet research.

Tutoring Schedule:

Math - 8:00 – 12:00 - T, W, TR

Reading - 1:00 – 3:00

Writing -By appointment

The LRC is also the “Home of Testing. ”The following tests are administered

  • TABE – Test of Adult Basic Education
  • Accuplacer – Placement test for College
  • NET – Nurse’s Entrance Exam
  • Early Childhood Credentials Test
  • Proctor of several other tests(psychological, employment)

The Learning Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
