Welcome to the Brownells-Trinidad American Gunsmithing Technologies Institute. We were established as a vision for the future of gunsmithing by Frank & Pete Brownell, CEO & President of Brownells Incorporated the largest after market retailer of gun parts and gunsmithing supplies in the world. The Brownells Trinidad American Gunsmithing Technologies Institute is the final key to unlocking the doors to a successful future for the graduating two year gunsmithing student or for those with experience requiring the knowledge of the intricacies of running and managing a firearms business.

The Brownells-Trinidad American Gunsmithing Technologies Institute is a full service working gunshop ready to address every need from both sides of the counter.

To customers of Brownells-Trinidad Gunshop we offer world class quality and precision on the work performed to firearms entering the shop. Our new finishing facilities provide basic re-bluing to vintage custom rust bluing as well as electroless nickel plating and bluing of stainless steel firearms which are now garnering the lion’s share of firearms market.

Brownells-Trinidad Gunshop can now build a customers next dream rifle on our state of the art lathes and mills equipped with digital variable speed drives to allow for the utmost in precision when machining and chambering to provide our clientele with match grade performance be it a hunting, varmint or true competition rifle. A recent example was John Meyers who won the prestigious “2010 Texas State F-Class Long Range Championship”

For those involved weekend plinking and serious handgunning bring us your revolver or semi-auto for maintenance or a tune up and get the most performance & pleasure out of your firearm.

For the competitors attending matches or competition at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, N.M. just minutes south of our shop in Raton, we are here for you as well. Whether you are local, out of state or flying in from around the world let our shop make thing easy on you if you need shooting gear, tools, or last minute items sent in we can be your point of pick up. We will also offer an “Around the Clock” armorers service to all competitors and hunters during any major shooting event held at the Whittington Center.

For graduating students of any of the Gunsmithing schools around the country the Brownells Trinidad Gunshop this is the opportunity for you to realize what it would be like to own and manage your own firearms business, build a customer base and following that may last a lifetime. Brownells dream was to create a business incubator for gunsmithing graduates from around the country in a central location accessible to all to provide a place to actually apply the skills and the theory learned in a two year gunsmithing program in a real world working environment. From manning the sales counter, to taking a customers order that may be his or her dream firearm of a lifetime, this is your chance to see if you have what it takes to make this business your own or prepare yourself to step into a working shop and know you have the skills to manage a profitable business.

With the NRA Whittington Center a 30 minute drive south from the shop, we have celebrities and competitors from around the United States and the world stop by and visit. This program puts you in the position to meet the people that will provide your future as a gunsmith and coupled with our reloading & shooting program you may be competing side by side with those competitors, celebrities or members of the firearms industry you have only read about in magazines.
