Clayton Nelson has been a full time custom gunmaker for over 40 years. He has produced over 800 custom rifles, which includes both metal work and stockmaking. His knowledge and skills have led him into the design and manufacture of various single shot rifle actions produced for the trade.

Paul Malochleb is a former east coast gunsmith, machinest and pistol competitor. After graduating From TSJC‘s gunsmithing program in 1997, he established Southwest Custom Gunsmithing, LLC in Phoenix, Arizona and specializes in custom Smith & Wesson revolvers and Colt 1911 pistols.

Mike Pierson has 36 years of university experience teaching and administering technology related courses and 16 years of engraving experience. Education includes a Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate in Education. He has studied engraving under Frank Hendricks and John Barraclough.

CHUCK GRACE |
| Chuck Grace is a charter member of the American Custom Gunmaker’s Guild. He is current Vice-president and Chairman of the education committee of that organization. He has been making stocks and custom firearms since 1974 and is a 1973 graduate of Trinidad State Jr. College. |
VERN PAULSON |
| Vern Paulson has 20 years of welding experience in the aviation, heavy equipment, mining, and electrical fields. He is the full–time welding instructor at Trinidad State Junior College. |

| Dave Nolan is a full-time TSJC gunsmithing instructor with 20 years background experience in stockmaking. He is also versed in work with synthetic stocks as well as gun repair, barrel and custom metal work, bluing and custom firearms building. |
KEITH GIPSON |
| Keith Gipson has been a full time gunsmithing instructor at TSJC since 1987 and is currently the director of Gunsmithing activities. Keith is an experienced machinest and gunsmith who specializes in gun repair, metalworking, and CNC programming. |
DENNIS POTTER |
| Dennis Potter has been gunsmithing full time since 1974, specializing in side-by-side and over/under shotguns. As both stockmaker and metal smith he offers all phases of repair and restoration. He has been a member of the American Custom Gunmaker’s Guild since 1984 and has served on the guilds board of directors. |
LEONARD BULL |
| Leonard Bull is a retired TSJC gunsmithing instructor and former gunsmith in the London gun trade. He worked for 13 years as a Master Gunsmith for Shaw & Hunter in Nairobi, Kenya. |
HAROLD THOMASON

| Harold Thomason came to TSJC directly from the U.S. army where he had served in the Marksmanship Unit for 28 years; 4 years as a competitive high power shooter and 24 years as the shooting teams armorer. Thomason holds the Distinguished Marksman Rifle Badge and has attended factory schools in the United States and Europe. He is an experienced gunsmith and served as a TSJC gunsmith instructor for 20 years. |
REX PEDERSEN

| Rex Pedersen grew up in the family gunshop started by his father in Ludington Michigan. As well as performing many of the gunsmithing operations, Rex decided to try his hand at engraving in 1978. Since then he has received “professional” status from the Firearms Engravers Guild of America. He has won numerous awards for “Best of Show” at the annual Guild Exhibition in Reno NV. And currently serves as president of that organization. |

| Speedy Gonzalez is a United States Benchrest “Hall of Fame “member and 13 time national champion and benchrest world record holder. He is the only NBRSA member to win national championships in both varmint and hunter class competition. Qualifications include 25 years tool & die making experience in the fields of machine tools, pattern making, stock design, barrel making, electro discharge machining of carbide bullet swages. He also holds a degree in mechanical engineering. |

| Bob Snapp is a 1951 graduate of Trinidad St. Junior College gunsmith program. He has 56 years of gunsmithing experience with the most recent 20-30 years spent building BEST QUALITY single shot rifles mostly on Martini Cadet, Winchester High Walls and other traditional single shot actions. Bob is a member and past president of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. |
DAVE BENNETTS |
| Dave Bennetts has 28 years experience as a gunsmith. Specializing in metal polishing and bluing and restoration and refinishing of high grade firearms. The last 5 years have been spent as a technical advisor for Brownell’s Inc. Dave brings with him to the TSJC Summer Gunsmithing schools all his years of experience in the field as well as the latest tips and products from Brownell’s, the world’s premier gunsmith supply house. |
