Steve Decker
 

 Ryan Pauly

Two year starter Steve Decker is this week’s “Athlete of the Week” at TSJC. Steve is a 6’2” shortstop from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended Coronado High School where he was the school offensive MVP as a sophomore and the defensive MVP as a senior. He was named to the Top 50 game and had a lifetime .400 batting average.
Steve’s favorite team is the Colorado Rockies and his favorite player is San Diego shortstop Khalil Greene. Steve’s favorite baseball moment is hitting a walk-off grand slam.
Steve enjoys fishing, skateboarding and snowboarding in his free time and his favorite foods are steak and crab legs. “Success happens when preparation meets opportunity” is Steve’s favorite quote.
His parents are Phyllis and Dave Decker and he stated that he admires his dad the most in life.
Steve chose Trinidad State because of the great reputation. He is a business major who hopes to one day be healthy and successful.

 

This week’s Trinidad State Junior College “Athlete of the Week” is sophomore pitcher Ryan Pauly. Ryan is a 5’10” right hander from Fort Collins, Colorado. He attended Resurrection Christian High School were he was the 2006 Baseball MVP and All State.
His parents are Rose and Steve Pauly. Ryan stated that he admires his dad the most in life.
Ryan’s favorite sports moment was when Texas won the national championship in football. His favorite team is the Detroit Tigers and his favorite player is Ivan Rodriguez. Ryan’s favorite food is chicken fajitas and his hobbies include wakeboarding, snowboarding and working on his car. His favorite quote is, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.-Ecclesiastes 9:10”.
Ryan chose TSJC because of the Coaching Staff and the opportunity to play. He hopes to become a junior high and high school youth pastor some day.
