The Trojan golf team got back to competition against two-year schools after starting the season against the four-years and picked up where they left off in the fall. In first place. The Trojans won all of their fall tournaments and wasted no time getting back to their winning ways as they destroyed the field this past week in McCook, Nebraska.
The Trojans placed all of their golfers in the top five at the tournament with Mitch Boyd and Brad Hernandez finishing with identical scores of 148 for the first place honors. Eric Weghorst finished third at 157 while J.J. DeGarbo and Chris Turner came in tied for fourth with scores of 158.
Team wise the Trojans took a 31 stroke lead after day one and finished 54 strokes ahead of the nearest competition.
This week the Trojans will head to Lamar on Thursday and La Junta on Friday for the Lamar/La Junta Invitational.
