Academics at TSJC
Arts and Sciences
Trinidad State offers a wide variety of majors and courses to prepare students for a career and for life. In the Arts and Sciences section you’ll find courses that will lay the groundwork for your future. You can study Business Administration, Psychology, Theater and Engineering to name a few. You’ll graduate in two years with an Associate’s Degree and can then continue at a four-year school.
Career and Technical Education
CTE encompasses studies which generally are more “hands-on” in nature. Many times these degrees are all a student needs to prepare them for a career. Associate of Applied Science Degrees (AAS) include Aquaculture, Cosmetology, Diesel Technology, Gunsmithing, Welding and Heavy Equipment Technology. Some courses can be completed in as little as one semester.
Credit Completion Progress Standards
These standards apply to all students who have attempted 9 or more credits at TSJC, regardless of the number of term credits they attempt from that point forward. TSJC will determine Credit Completion Progress standards following the posting of the majority of term grades for each semester. Students placed on Warning 1, Warning 2 or Warning 3 will be notified of their status (which may include notification via student college e-mail). The Credit Completion Progress status of a student is specific to TJSC and does not impact a student’s enrollment at other CCCS colleges.
Academic Progress Policy
All Trinidad State Junior College students are expected to achieve satisfactory progress as required by the Colorado Community College System (CCCS), System President’s Procedure (SP4-20d). Through the Academic Alert Progress, students will be informed when they are not making satisfactory academic progress.
