Artist Lecture Series

LORA NAVA

Lora Nava relocated to Trinidad 20 years ago from San Francisco so that she would have the opportunity to make art full time. In the city, she studied stone, metal and wood sculpture, wax casting, jewelry fabrication and clay. Once in Trinidad she also studied at Trinidad State, taking advantage of the Bronze Casting Studio. The techniques she has at her disposal enable her to work in many ways. "How I work with clay is accumulative of life experiences. I am curious about what others have learned and how other artists process. Also, I like to teach and guide, I learn so much from the students. The best thing about clay is you never stop learning how to create." Lora is showing her work locally at the Corazon Gallery on Main Street, Trinidad's Co-op gallery. She does custom pet portraits, custom dishes and her own imaginative stoneware cups and bowls. Her sculptures and masks are also on display and for sale on Main Street.
