Online Learning at TSC

TSC online courses are delivered through the Colorado Online system — a shared platform across all 13 Colorado Community College System schools. You register through TSC, keep your financial aid and advising support, and take courses taught by qualified instructors from across the state.

To find online sections in our class schedule, look for Z sections or switch the instructional method filter to Online.

01

Browse & Register

Search for Z-section courses in the TSC class schedule. Register through your TSC student account just like any other course.

02

Get Sorted

Up to three days before the term starts, you'll be placed into an X-section teaching group in MyCourses (D2L).

03

Log In & Learn

Access your course in MyCourses. The college logo in D2L shows which CCCS school is teaching your specific section.

04

TSC Support Stays

Your advising, financial aid, library, and student services are still here — you're a TSC student throughout.

Understanding Section Numbers

When you register for a Colorado Online course, you'll enroll in a Z section. Don't be surprised when your section number changes before the term begins — this is normal and expected.

Z section → X section: Up to three days before the course starts, you will be moved into a teaching section (X section) in MyCourses (D2L). This X section may be taught by an instructor from any of the 13 CCCS community colleges. The college logo in D2L will identify which school is running your section.

Your Z registration is your seat guarantee. The X section assignment is simply how Colorado Online manages course delivery across the system. Your credits, grade, and transcript entry will all reflect Trinidad State College.

Frequently Asked Questions

Colorado Online is a shared course delivery system for all 13 schools in the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). Instead of each college running every online section independently, courses are pooled so students have access to more offerings. You register through TSC as normal, but your online instructor may come from another CCCS school. Your credits and degree still come from Trinidad State.

When you register, you receive a Z section number — this holds your spot. Up to three days before the term begins, Colorado Online sorts students into X (teaching) sections in MyCourses (D2L). This is a normal part of the Colorado Online process and does not affect your registration, financial aid, or credits.

Yes. Because you are registered and enrolled as a TSC student, your TSC financial aid applies to Colorado Online courses just as it would for any other TSC course. Contact the Financial Aid Office if you have questions specific to your aid package.

Open the TSC Class Schedule and either search for Z sections by name, or change the Instructional Method filter to Online to see all available Colorado Online sections.

Absolutely. Enrolling in a Colorado Online course does not change your status as a TSC student. You continue to have full access to advising, the library, financial aid, tutoring, and all other student services — whether you are fully online or taking a mix of in-person and online courses.

For course content or instructor questions, reach out to your instructor directly through MyCourses (D2L). For registration, advising, or TSC-specific concerns, contact the TSC main office or your academic advisor. For technical help with D2L, visit the CO Online student resources page.
