Dental Assisting

Dental Assisting explore imageThe Dental Assisting program is designed to prepare students to deliver quality oral health care and to become valuable members of the dental care team. The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistants performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Job duties may include, but are not limited to the following: assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures; taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays); helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment; and communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies).
