Dr. Jodi is one of the full time nursing faculty on the Valley campus where she teaches
in both the associate degree and bachelors degree along with serving as the site coordinator
for the Valley Campus nursing program. Dr. Jodi is a Valley native, born and raised
in the San Luis Valley where she and her husband along with their two daughters and
son-in-laws operate a cow/calf and horse training ranching operation.
She started her nursing career after earning her licensed practical nursing certificate
from the San Luis Valley Vocational School. She continued her to follow her passion
for nursing and helping other by graduated with her associates degree in applied science
in nursing from Trinidad State. She later earned her BSN from University of New Mexico.
As she began to explore the world of nursing education working for Trinidad State
as an adjunct clinical instructor found that she also enjoyed helping others achieve
their goal of becoming a nurse. It was with this new avenue she enrolled in Walden
University to earn her MSN with an emphasis in nursing education and finally earning
a Doctoral degree in Higher Education Adult Learning also from Walden University.
She brings with her a vast variety of experience in the health care field ranging
from acute care medical/surgical, surgery, emergency care, home health care, obstetrics,
peds, women's care, long term care, leadership, and education.
During her career she was nominated for Who's Who in America for nurse leaders, a
nominee for the San Luis Valley chapter Nightingale award and was awarded the El Pomar
Health Professions Scholarship.
