Amanda Vigil is a dedicated educator and finance professional with a strong background
in higher education and student success. She earned her BBA in Finance from New Mexico
Highlands University before continuing her studies to obtain an MBA in Human Resource
Management.
Her career in academia began as an adjunct faculty member at NMHU in 2008, and in
2011, she relocated to join Trinidad State College as an adjunct faculty member. Later that year, she took on a role in the
Student Success Center, where she served as an Intervention Specialist, Advisor, and
eventually Chief Student Conduct Officer. Her expertise in finance led her to transition
into the Business Office, where she took a roll as an Accountant before advancing
into the Controller position.
As the Controller she has provided strategic financial leadership grounded in integrity,
compliance, and fiscal responsibility. She ensures accurate financial reporting and
maintains strong audit outcomes. Through strengthened internal controls and collaborative
campus partnerships, she improved operational efficiency while supporting student-centered
initiatives. Her leadership fosters accountability, transparency, and a culture of
continuous improvement within the Business Office that further aligns with institutional
priorities
Outside of her professional life, Amanda has a deep love for creativity and nature.
She cherishes her time spent outdoors and with her family.
