I am Dr. Mark Wittler. I started teaching at TSC in January, 2020. I have a wide educational background including an AA degree in Agriculture, a Bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology and a Doctorate in chiropractic. I teach Anatomy & Physiology and Pathophysiology courses on the TSC Valley campus. The structure and functioning of the body always fascinated me as well as natural healthcare. I have published research on the chiropractic treatment of PMS and written a manual on radiography. I retired from private chiropractic practice after 25 years and returned to teaching in 2017. Previously I taught radiology and clinical practice at a chiropractic college and taught anatomy and physiology at both a 4-year college and a nursing college. Additionally, I have been a firefighter and medic for over 40 years working mainly as a volunteer and EMS instructor for the last 35 years.

I have been married for 44 years. We have 4 daughters, 1 son and 6 grandchildren. Hobbies include hunting, fishing, prepping, ham radio and flying. My wife and son are both firefighter/medics and our four daughters are all registered nurses.

Teaching has always been a passion for me. It is a privilege to be part of the educational process, especially for those entering the healthcare field. An understanding of how the body functions is vital in the treatment of patients. I strive to include “real world” examples on the application of concepts in the courses I teach in order for my students to see how what they are learning is important to their careers.

I realize that people learn differently and strive to present material in various ways to enable all students to have the opportunity to learn. I am proud to be a part of Trinidad State College.
