About the Program

The Physics program at Trinidad State builds the lower-division coursework you need for a Bachelor of Science in Physics. The curriculum combines Colorado’s Guaranteed Transfer (GT) Pathways courses with core physics and mathematics classes recommended by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, so your credits are built to transfer.

Because the degree follows the state’s GT Pathways framework, courses you complete here are guaranteed to count toward general education requirements at any Colorado public four-year college or university — helping you start your bachelor’s degree with junior standing.

Transfer Degree

AS Degree — Physics

4 semesters · 60 credit hours

Complete your general education and core physics and math coursework, then transfer with junior standing into a Bachelor of Science in Physics at any of TSC’s partner Colorado universities. Every course in this pathway is a GT Pathways or CDHE-recommended course, so credits are built to transfer from day one.

Physics Transfer Major - Associate of Science

*Please note: if these credits are not required for the major at a receiving 4-year institution, they will be applied to the bachelor’s degree as elective credit toward graduation. Please check with the receiving institution to determine in which way these courses will be applied.  **If you choose to take one of theses courses, it will put you over 60 credits. The courses will transfer but the extra credits may not. That is, the receiving institution may still require the completion of 60 credits for the major.  For the most current information on this transfer articulation agreement, please go to the following website: https://cdhe.colorado.gov/students/attending-college/credit-transfer/transfer-degrees#:~:text=These%20agreements%20allow%20you%20to,a%20total%20of%20120%20credits).  Click any semester to see the full course list.
