Academic Links
Academic scholarships are available to students enrolled in the Theater Program. The
scholarships are Full-Tuition awards. Students must enroll in at least 15 credit hours
per semester and must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Cumulative GPA will be used
for continuing eligibility

Trinidad State’s Theatre Department prepares students for careers in theatre and the
entertainment industry through in-depth scholarly study and hands-on training. Programs
provide comprehensive curricula on stage design and management, costume and set design,
lighting and sound, as well as acting, directing, creative writing for the stage,
and more. Students work with our faculty in small classes to produce a variety of
theatrical events each semester, including a full dramatic production each spring.
Working in Trinidad State’s newly renovated Massari Theatre as well as at a variety
of venues in and around Trinidad, students gain valuable skills of collaboration,
creative problem solving skills, and community engagement, as well as the technical
background needed for success in the theatre and entertainment industries.
Trinidad State’s Theatre Department offers Associate of Arts (A.A.) degrees in both
Theatre and Technical Theatre. These degrees are guaranteed to transfer to other public
four-year institutions across Colorado.
