Valley Campus

The Valley Campus of Trinidad State is located in downtown Alamosa. This commuter campus was established in 1994 when Trinidad State merged with the San Luis Valley Educational Center to form the Valley Campus. The main building was modernized in 2014 with the addition of state-of-the-art biology and chemistry labs. The campus features friendly staff and small class sizes. Hands-on programs include Nursing, Cosmetology, Auto and Diesel Mechanics plus Welding. Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) allows students to become certified drone pilots. Our newest program, eSports, is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing industries in the world today. The college nursing program, which is ranked in the top three of all Colorado-based programs, is housed in its own facility directly adjacent to the main building of Valley Campus complex. The Law Enforcement Academy and Auto Mechanics programs operate training sites at off campus locations. Aside from the numerous Career and Technical Education programs offered at the Valley Campus, students can also take a variety of courses in traditional classrooms settings, including Business, Computer Information Systems and Math, to name a few.

The Valley Campus is situated alongside Alamosa’s busiest thoroughfare—State Highway 160. Approximately 11,000 vehicles pass by each day. The area is one of the most productive agricultural areas in the country and as such, Trinidad State offers a complete and varied Agriculture program. At 7,600 feet in elevation, Alamosa sits in the middle of the 8,000 square mile San Luis Valley, the highest and largest mountain desert in the world. To the west are the majestic San Juan Mountains and to the east the rugged Sangre de Cristo Range. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is located 35 miles to the northeast and features the tallest dunes in North America.
